Shelter

    • Affordable rental housing, mortgage counseling. Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 12 p.m., 1 - 4:30 p.m.

    • Emergency shelter and permanent housing service for the homeless. They also provide supportive services, education, and employment for low-income individuals and families.

    • Faith-Based Housing Program for Men in Addiction Recovery

  • Grant County Rescue Mission - GCRM: (765) 662-0988, 423 S Gallatin St, Marion, IN

    • Overnight shelter for up to 40 men. Intake daily at 5 p.m. A separate extended shelter is available for up to 21 women and children (boys up to age 5). Women, please call (765) 664-9625 for assistance. GCRM also provides up to eleven apartment units for men and women who have graduated from their program and have a source of income. Apartments are alcohol-free, drug-free environments and a stepping stone for those wanting to get out on their own yet may still need the accountability the GCRM provides. ​

    • Provides access to the opportunity of homeownership for hardworking individuals and families in our community through house sponsorships, individual donations, and volunteer time. ​​

    • Public housing rentals for families, elderly, disabled, and handicapped persons with low income.​

  • Meals on Wheels: (765) 662-6772, 624 S Adams St, Marion, IN

    • Delivers meals to the Senior Center, 503 S Gallatin St, Marion, IN, and directly to the homes of seniors whose mobility is limited. ​

  • Open Heart Women's Shelter: (765) 664-9625, 115 W 11th St, Marion, IN

    • Grant County Rescue Mission ministry provides shelter for up to 20 women and their children. They also provide food, clothing, Christian counseling, chapel services, and educational opportunities. ​

  • Overnight Men's Homeless Shelter: (765) 662-0988, 423 S Gallatin St, Marion, IN

    • Short-term shelter and public kitchen for men.​

    • Open Tuesdays 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. ID required.

    • Provides free meals to anyone in need. Open seven days a week, 365 days a year.  Breakfast 7 a.m., Lunch 12 p.m., Dinner 5 p.m.

    • Open Wednesdays and Thursdays 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. ​

  • Second Harvest Food Bank Tailgate: (765) 287-8698, Drive-Thru Distribution at Five Points Mall, 1129 N Baldwin Ave, Marion, IN. 

    • Distribution in Marion is on the 2nd Tuesday of the month, beginning at 10 a.m. and continuing while supplies last. Please arrive no earlier than 8 a.m. All are welcome, regardless of home county or reason for need. No ID or proof of anything is required.

Clothing

    • Free clothing and household items on Mondays 9 - 11 a.m., ID required.

  • Coats for Kids, St. Martin Community Center: (765) 651-9324, 901 S Branson St, Marion, IN

    • Distributes free, gently used, or new winter coats, scarves, and gloves to children and adults during the winter months. They also provide school uniforms, clothing, and supplies to needy children. 

Medical

    • Health and dental clinic based on income. They may also be able to assist with medication discounts. Individuals with Medicaid or other medical insurance are not accepted. Bridges is NOT A WALK-IN CLINIC. Call for more info, stop by to pick up an application, or email info@bridges2health.org.     • Free after-school care and tutoring for school-age kids and high schoolers, mentoring, games, and activities.

    • Cash Assistance, Food Stamps, TANF, Medicaid, Hoosier Health Wise (HHW), Health Indiana Plan (HIP). Hours: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

  • Grant County Society for Crippled Children and Adults: (765) 662-2435

    • Free transportation to doctor appointments or hospital visits for anyone who is wheelchair-bound. They also loan beds, toilet raisers, wheelchairs, etc., to Grant County, Indiana residents. ​

  • Indiana Family Helpline: (800) 433-0746

    • Information, referrals, education, advocacy, and follow-up on various topics, including obtaining early prenatal and child health care, accessing Medicaid and WIC providers, locating emergency housing, food pantries, utility assistance, and literacy, vocational, and GED programs.
  • Interlocal Community Action Program - ICAP: (765) 573-5193, 327 E 2nd St, Marion, IN

    • ICAP assists low-income families with heating and a portion of electricity. Eligibility is income-based. Hours: Monday - Thursday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Friday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

    • Limited financial assistance with rent, utilities, and prescription medications, help with state assistance information. ​

    • Free after-school care, tutoring, mentoring, and a nutritional snack for school-age children. Hours: Monday - Thursday, 3 - 6 p.m. (September - April); Monday - Thursday, 3 - 5 p.m. (May); Tuesday - Thursday, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. (June-July).  

  • Trustees: Assists with bill payments to Grant County, Indiana residents by township.​
